So I have known this girl for 4 months, and I like her but not sure if she likes me or knows that i like her. She goes to an out of state college and we have been communicating quite frequently over that time. my issue is, sometimes I feel that if want to talk to her (by texting her), that it will seem that I am desperate for her attention or whatever. my mind has gotten so confused by reading so much articles online and how to play hard to get or whatever and make the girl pursue you, but it doesnt always work, i want her to like me but what is the best way to do this?
can i not be kind? friendly? i mean can i not ask her how her day is going? how she is doing? is that too much of a "nice" guy thing? am i being too "friendly" so thats all she will ever see me as? i care for her and want her to know i like her, she is usually the one startin text convos, i rarely do it, i like her, should i text her and see how she is doing? even tho its like 1am right now? she mite be awake doin hw

Just being yourself. You dont have to be someone else to make her like you. If she do, thats mean, she didnt like you personally.

You are reading the wrong articles. Honestly and kindness will be the only way to find someone that cares for you. If you play games, they will either play games also, or the really nice people will get sick of you and move on.
Be yourself. Once they get to know you, that is what they will see. If you deceive them about yourself, then they are not seeing the person they thought you were, and they will be disappointed and leave.
Text her, call her, and do what you really feel like doing. As long as you don't smother her, there will be no problem.

If you really like her then you have to take the initiative to talk to her. Some girls are quite oblivious to little things, and they like it when guys pay attention and show real interest in them. So, start by initiating conversations and asking her about her day. That would show her that you are genuinely interested. If she's usually the one who starts texts or conversations then that means that she likes talking to you. Of course, there is a time for everything, but don't be afraid to text her even at weird times. Who knows? She might be flattered that you are thinking about her, even if it is at 1 in the morning. :p
