What are they doing to help stop global warming?

...whats with all this criticism? I'm just asking what does the gov't do in order help stop global warming. It's not like i depend on them to do something. I turn off the lights when i leave the room, I recycle, I have a garden, and I give my friends rides so that they won't have to use an extra car. Hey, it's not much but it's a lot more than what the majority of the nation does.
...and no, I am not a hippy. Stupid stereotypes. I can't even ask a simple biology homework question without being categorized.

sorry if I sound like your parents...why the goverment, what can you do..if everyone of us can do something the world will become a better place for many more generation to come. What am I doing...I keep a few flower plant...it helps to return some oxygen back to the earth..it may not sound big but it is a small step for mother earth.......

As of now (To my knowledge) the course of action is not to turn back the clock but to make steps to adapt. May not be the best idea, but may be the most practical.
