I've been very close friends with a guy for 18 months, and we are shagging partners, he has recently met somebody, and he's had to tell me cos she's not happy about our friendship. I have a feeling that if she didn't have an issue he would never have told me. what do you all think?

First off men and women are equals in that department .. for every break up there are 2 people involved .. but that's not my point ..
What did he lie about .. did he deceive you .. he did tell you finally I guess though he should not have started another relationship and that's wrong of him .. and I guess that's the lie because to me hiding the truth is no better than lying about it
I am sorry for what your going through but I would look at it this way .. its better you found out now rather than 2 years from now ..shagging partners ? is that all you were or did you love him ? seems to me if you did you might have mentioned it .. so go out and party and be glad your not stuck in a relationship with a cheater .. there are good men in this world you know .. only thing is they are at home with their wife's of girlfriends so you don't hear about them that often ... but you have as much chance of meeting one as anyone else .. so good luck to you .. keep your head up and don't look back ..

Not all men lie, just the horrid ones I am afriad! Women can lie just as well too! If you are just shag-buddies is it a proper relationship? What were the ground rules when you started seeing each other? Think the best thing to do is talk about it and discuss where you are both going and what are the rules of your 'friendship'.

i dont understand why alot of women think of us in that way, most of the time guys lie not to hurt ther loved ones. but in this case the guy didnt lie to u. u shouldnt b mad or feelin bad or anything cuz ur relationship was based on sex so who cares! ull find another guy to shag in no time :)

I think that not all men lie. I do not think that men always lie. I know sometimes women lie too. Are you basing your question on the actions of one individual male?

umm bending the truth to keep both parties happy was probly his intentions but obviously she isnt happy with u 2 so i would say lay low for now, who knows he might get bored of her and come bak 2 u, the next step would be up 2 u

What is he lying about ? You already admitted in 2 words what you are to him. You forgot another word - cheap - that`s what you are to him. Your sort - ten a penny - this girl is someone he wants a proper loving relationship with. No contest.
