Because previous generations came here "LEGALLY" and melted in with America, putting America first.
The bulk of current immigrants sneak in "ILLEGALLY" and want to keep their loyalties to their homeland before their new home. The equivalent of having an occupying force of 12 - 20 million people hiding, in the open, who have no loyalty to America.
If these were 12 -20 million Middle Easterners do you think it would be handled differently? You bet. This is nothing by comparison to how it could be.

Again and again and again;
This "problem " is a made up problem and will not go away. This situation with the illegals is and has been a great platform for politicians. I agree that "illegally immigration" makes it tough for the "legals" like myself, but that doesn't mean that is a problem that politicians "really" want to resolve. Is also a great diversion from the real problems that the country is facing, whenever in doubt, blame the illegals. Why not blame the Jews? they are all immigrants and they were "settling" illegally all over the world. Don't believe me? Read your Bible, (as a history book, not a religious one), And they keep throwing in our face every moment they can the "holocaust". What about the "Blacks"? They were brought here illegally, why weren't sent back to Africa after they were freed? I know this sound extremely racist, but tell me what do you call us, (even to the ones that are legally here and inclusive the ones that were born here), Leeches, criminals, "beaners" , or yell at us 'go back to were you come from", . You applaud the formation of "vigilante" groups like the "Minutemen" , (Ku-Klux-Klan disguised), and even call for them to be armed, and no Jackson or Sharpton come to our defense. Nobody gets upset when we are called all those things, hell you can't even decide how to identify us; Latino, Hispanic, Mexicans or simply Chicanos which is not even a race,and to me is a derogatory term, So I digressed, going back to your question, "Illegal Immigration" is here to stay and the politicians are going to flip it over and over again, like a "tortilla" mesmerizing their followers, gain office and forget about it until is time for reelection.

All countries have immigration laws, and the US is no exception. This is normal. From what I understand, our immigration laws are more lenient than those of many other countries. From what my friends in the UK tell me, it's extremely difficult to immigrate there.

The hate was always there. It is passed on from generation to generation.It is surfacing because of the illegals.There are some good people that think racism does not exist. Mainly because they have no experience.The problem is they think it will wipe out my experience. Sorry I do not forget and I will never forget what I have seen and heard.

Cabron o, maybe you got more hate than me.I call myself a Mexican-American because I am proud of my Azteca blood. There are few like me and I do not know why.I do not control everything. I support illegals that come over here to work and make a living. I do not call them names. Now you may not like the next part. I hate the spanish blood white Mexicans who are really the ones with money in Mexico. I hate them because they do take care of their own people which are Mexican Indians living in poverty.Brown skin illegal Mexicans that are hated by white people on both sides of the border.By the way I was born in the USA. My ancestors go back at least 100 years of living in Texas.

ILLEGAL immigrants are gettin cracked down on.. why should they be able to come to this country and take advantage of programs that hard-working citizens and immigrant-citizens pay their tax dollars for??
those programs will get drained by people that aren't contributing anything to them.. and THAT is why the crackdown is upon us.. people just need to get over themselves and freakin work for an honest living!!!!!!!

Well, they are going to get amnesty, so they won't be illegal immigrants anymore.
NEW YORK — Although a clear majority of Americans believe illegal immigration is a very serious problem for the country, many think it is somebody else's problem — as fewer than one in four say it is a very serious problem for their community, according to the latest FOX News Poll. Seven in 10 people say they favor allowing illegals that have jobs to apply for temporary-worker status.

the policy isn't getting tighter (quite the opposite), opposition to illegal immigration is increasing
legal immigrants are always welcome, illegals demanding rights and calling all opposition to their amnesty agenda "racists", are way out of line
this issue is going to come to a head just before the next presidential election, should be fun!
thanks Tom Tancredo, you got my vote
