well one of my friends has deployed to Iraq twice now and I asked him and he said ya i did. People might not be so "oh my god you shoot someone you are bad sin sin sin" it is for the good of this country it is kill or be killed. I would rather have American military kill then let those SOB's over here and fight on the homeland. Also telling children depending on the age I would tell my children I will tell you all about it when you get older. Even my four year old daughter understands this phrase.

often in the military the use of the word kill is subsituted by the words, execute, and eliminate.
this is done as a psych. factor that allows that person an easier re-entry into 'normal' society.
often the respect of human life has lead them to not want to talk about it, as it's a feeling that is hard to shake. (family military experience)

most children and relatives won't ask that question.
and even if they do, the men and women that return from a battle zone usually don't talk about it except to a spouse or in therapy to deal with the trauma associated with their job.

If and when they are asked..those soldiers that decide to speak of their time in Iraq or Afghanistan (not all troops like to speak of their experiences...very personal) I think they will say some like....
"I killed every terrorist and insurgent that I could in the sights of my weapon. And I killed them because it was my duty and because they were trying to kill me, my buddies or the innocent Iraqi citizens."

They will say that they did what they had to do to survive and say for the price of FREEDOM and LIFE. The only numbers our men personally keep in their heads are the numbers of men they save... FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC!!

you should be proud of them.
They are braver than you and defending your sorry butt.
One thing, people in the military are told that they will be sent to the war zone. They dont choose to do it.
You are shallow and close minded.
If you dont like it. LEAVE

think of it like this, kill or be killed? i want my husband to come home and so does our son...if my husband is in the situation he hopes to never come across he knows that he loves his family and wants to get home in one piece so he will do what he has to do in order to get home.
