imus didnt say anything howard does not say every day. why is there a different standard? has sharpton not ever gone on howard's show and laughed and joked with him? has he never questioned the things that howard says that are racist or demanded that he apologize?

attention morons, Imus was fired from MSNBC. in case you dont know, MSNBC is a CABLE station that is broadcast only to SUBSCRIBERS of CABLE. exactly like howard's radio program. imus was not fired by his radio broadcaster that does broadcast over public airwaves. the problem is that special interest groups got together and got him fired.
that is not a free market. in a free market, he would have been fired at a later point in time when his advertisers gave up on him.
think people, step away from what the media is telling you and work these things out in your own minds!

Imus is accountable to the FCC and the general public who has access to the airwaves he broadcasts on. Howard Stern is on satelite radio, which is accessible to subscribers only.

I'm glad someone else has this question. Of course this doesn't answer it but just want you to know you are not the only one wondering this and finding it odd. For the record I'm not a fan or Stern or Imus but hate is hate and prejudice is prejudice.

First, Stern is funny.
Second, Stern is on Satellite radio, not public air waves.
Third, Al Sharpton is self promoting and racist also.
Even though i don't like Imus, the guy has been punished.
