Well a friend of the family who is around 50, has most of his hair grey colored and I dye my hair quite a fair bit, I'm a hair junkie haha so I have bleach, where you mix the creme with powder, the strenght is 40, and his hair is thin and short.
So he wanted my sister to do his hair whilst I was away and instead of testing it, went straight ahead and bleached his whole head for 30 mins.
His hair then apparently turned blonde and they attempted to dye it a dark brown [after washing bleach out etc]. When the brown was washed out the color didn't stay in, all the brown just washed out.
The dye we used is the type you can get from supermarkets for a reasonable price.

Why didn't it work?
How can we fix this and make his hair a better color?
[he's not too happy :P]

THANKSx

You Will Need To Deep Condition The Hair With A Protien Treatment To "Fill" The Over-Porous Hair. It May Take Two Or Three Treatments. In The Meantime, Use A "Semi-Permanent" Color To Cover The Blonde And Prevent Further Damage Untill The Hair Is Ready For Permanent Color.

OMG...Salon Salon Salon....wow 30 min with 40peroxide..shes lucky she didn't burn his scalp...my advice is to send him to a professional and good luck...they are going to have to fill his hair before they can color it just to get it to a "normal" color...this can get quite expensive to fix..hope this helps

once you bleach hair, it's completely damaged and fried hair won't hold color. lmao I know from experience. I tried to get burgundy(at salon mind you) and my hair turned pink
