I am trying to find a way to numb my body, so I can run faster in a 2.5k race. I know that a lot of pain relievers also bring down muscle function. What is something I can use that will only affect the pain?

If you feel pain when you run then there is something wrong with you that should be checked out, especially if it is only a 2.5k, but if you are just doping take about 800mg of Motrin, it really helps me with my juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and I am able to carry out my shift as a mechanic for 8-10 hours without any serious pain.

Pl don't take any med for that. Develop your natural stamina, that will help you throught your life. Meds can spoil your life.
You should start with slow speed and less distance if you feel pain. If not this time try next time, there's no harm; but meds will be harmful also.

I suggest you flex your brain here. Pain is there for a reason. If you are taking pain killers for your running, What are you doing running????? There is such a thing as wrecking your body.
Isn't running supposed to be for HEALTH?

How about you push yourself harder in training and skip the "Easy Button"

**I don't like Barry Bonds either**
