I want to be able to recive digital cable on my pc without having to route my digital cable box through an analog tv card.Digital cable uses Quadrature Amplitude Modulation which is recivable through their cable boxes.What do I need to recive digital cable over my pc directly
The fcc says if you have a device that is capable of reciving a digital cable companys signal they are required to provide you with access ."smart card" ? If one of these tv tuner cards exists .who makes one?

Both Nvidia and ATI have video cards that support cable TV (and ATSC) tuners.

Cablecards on PCs are supported only with Vista.
