How would the Iraqi war have been different if the media were not embedded with the troops?

Corollary...How would have the US reacted to Roosevelt had the media been present at the firebombings in Dresden or Tokyo during WWII. In Tokyo, the heat was so intense, babies were exploding on the backs of their fleeing mothers (read "Flyboys")

FDR would have been kicked out of his wheelchair.

More to the point...How would the world perceive the war in Iraq if the imbedded press were not overwhelmingly predisposed to advocate its failure?

Al Qaida relies on the Bush hating press to help demoralize the weak west into wanting to leave Iraq. They know that the staccato reports of death and maiming in the nightly news broadcasts overshadow any progress.

Interesting question...I think that the U.S. Invasion of Iraq, if not embedded with journalists and other forms of information media, this occupation will last much longer than it even should, that people would not yet know many of the lies and scandals that have been uncovered with this blundered undertaking (haliburton, memo's on how to torture appropriately signed by rummy, no weapons of mass destruction and many innocent lives lost to name a few). i think that since we have the knowledge of all of the wrong doings regarding this "war" we have to get out and let the civil war resolve itself.

The media would have shown the sufferings of Iraqis too and that would make the world to know what exactly happening there in Iraq and who is the Actual victim.........Atleast iraqis would not have been accused as terrorists or so !"they are suffering and they are blamed".............thats a pitty !!
