The first commandment. If we actually follow the commandments as god's everlasting and eternal word, then we are forced to reconcile the fact that Jesus says he is not good, and that none are good but god. This means Jesus was not god, nor a part of him. Was Jesus lying when he said that?

What if Jesus was lying? What if Jesus really was the devil trying to mislead god's people by getting them to worship him instead of God? According to scripture, the savior would be called Immanuel, not Jesus. Can anyone find a scripture where Jesus is called by this name? How do you know Jesus wasn't a false prophet? Do you just take his word? Jesus has been known to misquote scripture and disregard god's laws (I have a list if you need proof, you can look it up yourself). For example, Jesus said that the rapture would happen during his disciples lifetimes, but they are all dead now. Why hasn't the rapture happened yet?

How do you know Jesus wasn't a fake?

For those of you who have a problem with the word "rapture", allow me to rephrase: Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Mark 13:30-31 NAB)
He also said to them, "Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see that the kingdom of God has come in power." (Mark 9:1 NAB)

"Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:27 NAB)

So yes, you are right that there is no "rapture", but the world was still supposed to end a long time ago, during Jesus' generation, not a future generation. If he meant something else, then he lied to the people he told this to. Either way, a lie is a lie, and a sin according to the commandments. Oops, there goes that "sinless" theory!

Almost forgot, as for the miracles: if there is no proof, then it's probably didn't happen. You can prove that the romans did crucify people, it's well documented. Walking on water is not. Ican turn water into Koolaid in a matter of seconds. I've got plenty of witnesses to attest to that. I don't consider it a miracle though. Also, you can prove David Copperfield and Houdini could escape solid steel hand-cuffs, also well documented. Neither are messiahs but both escaped death on more than one occassion. These occasions are not considered miracles. They can make things disappear and reappear, levitate objects, and guess the card you're holding on demand. These are not miracles, but they are well documented. How do we know Jesus was not a street magician and his disciples were his accomplices? How do we know this stuff even happened. Find it somewhere OTHER THAN THE BIBLE! If something is documented in more than one source, that greatly increases the chances it was true.

Where in the bible does it say Jesus was God?
Jesus was the Son of God, just as I am the son of God- you are the son of God- the person living next door to you is a son of God. Jesus was the light to show us the path. He came to open our eyes to a new path that should be taken.
People should not worship Jesus, they should worship God- even in Jesus's own words he said he was the SON OF GOD. And it mentions him sitting at the right hand of God where God is on the throne...

"How do you know Jesus wasn't a fake?"

yeah. That question has been out there for a long time. Books have been written on this subject, the titles not being far off from the way you asked the question.

Anyone who who considers the texts from the Bible has a choice to make. One of the often used descriptions, "Jesus was a good and wise teacher" doesn't fit when the scriptures are examined.

He was either a nut who thought that He was perfect in that He came off like a know-it-all, or He was a fraud attempting to control people, or He was who He said He was. You can probably tell that I am convinced that He was the Christ by the way I capitalize the pronouns! lol

You have to decide. Those that are led by God are typically wanting to believe, they just lack the conviction. The wanting comes from God, and if they value what they are learning enough, they may succumb to the pull that God brings to the spirit of men.

So I have though about the verse you brought up,
Matthew 19:17
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

But then you read verses like this one:
John 8:19Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

So the first verse about none good but God is not saying that Jesus isn't God. He wasn't saying that, He was saying that people should know that there is none good that are other than God. None.

That's why salvation is so important. It conquers sin. It negates the effects of judgement against us and God.

Is this the first time you've seen this explanation?

Jesus is not God...but the Son of God and woman. He was tempted by the same things that men are tempted by. The Bible clearly states this.

He is called Immanuel which means God With Us...not a specific name such as Emanual.

Jesus was not wholly good because he was subject to the same temptations as we are thus...can not be perfect even though he did not succumb to sin.

Jesus never said that we were to worship him. In fact, he spoke of our worshiping his father in heaven. It was only a belief in him that was required.

As to the rapture, the statement was made "surely this generation will not pass before I return again" If you read what was stated just before that, he was describing what the world would be like when he returned....and it was that world he was referring to. He said...it will be like in the time of Noah followed by and surely this generation will not pass before I return again. He was refering to the time when the likeness of Noah's time came to pass.

How do I know that Jesus is not a fake? That is the easiest answer of all. Before I came to accept Christ as my savior and God as my life leader, I was a good person already but my heart was empty. Once I accepted him, the Holy Spirit entered my heart and lives within me every day. The spirit is an actual presence within me...not simply a hope or a belief. I wish more than anything that I could somehow transfer it to you for even a moment...then and only then will you truly understand. It is something that needs to be experienced before you can truly be sure. Prior to that...you may hope Jesus is real and God is real...you may even believe it....but until you open your heart to it...nothing happens.

How could Jesus be the devil. How could Jesus mislead God's people when He preached all good things. Love God, love your neighbor, don't sin. He performed numerous miracles. He never disregarded any of God's laws. You sound very confused. Jesus isn't fake. He is our Lord and Savior.

1.It depends on which version of the Bible you are using
2. Jesus did not lie "If you have seen me you have seen the Father"
3. The God head inspired the Bible thus how could they misquote.
4. Any religion that distorts the truth is guilty of Hypocrisy

I believe if you happen to consider any person likes you, your first response is to consider extra approximately that individual to look if you happen to suppose the equal. If you do not have already got a bf or gf, and wish one, it is usually extra in view that its an possibility to make one. People would attention on matters they've in typical with the individual and no longer pay concentration to whatever elst, and begin to consider they relatively like them. So just about, they will begin liking the individual out of desperation. Because if you already know any person likes you, you then might say you favor them too, and there starts a dating. This does not occur at all times, as it's usually the weaker or much less skilled persons who do that with out knowing it. People who've been in relationships earlier than usually do not enable themselves to begin liking any person simply in view that that any person likes them.

Colossians 1:19 says that all fullness dwells in Jesus. This could mean fullness as in a full boat of sailors (see www.blueletterbible.com on this point.)

Jesus said that God was his Father. Matthew 7:21 - "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

I think that the judgement period has happened many times, and will happen many more.

We know Jesus was God by the miracles He performed. It was prophesied that you would know the Savior because He would heal the sick, make the lame walk, and raise the dead.

When Jesus was baptized, God Himself said from Heaven, "This is my beloved Son".

Your 40 years is off for the writing of the Gospels. Jesus died in A.D. 33, and the Gospels were written between A.D. 55- early 60's. Even if your 40 + years was accurate, the writers of the Gospels were guided by the Holy Spirit, and therefore, they were accurate.

Also, there are no contradictions in the Gospels.

More than that - how do you know the people that wrote about him could remember every quote, exactly 40 years after it happened. Even the most die hard fundie admits the gospels were written at least 40 years after the fact.

Even if it was genuine, who can remember THAT much exactly. I don't think it was as much "he was lying" as much as it was "honest, earnest people were trying to find answers"
