its not like i can control it, just like you ladies cant control it when you get strech marks, or upper lip hair, or thick arm hair. yet it is socially unacceptable to have hair on your back. why is that?

granted it can be controlled... but i have better things to do than shave my back everyday, and thats what i would have to do, cause then i would get stubble back there and lord knows that would be awful. strech marks can very easily be covered up by makeup, just the same way pimples are hidden.

A lot of women are attracted to that. Older women especially I think. But the majority of the new genre of American female culture out there finds it unappealing. Just as we ladies have to primp and preen all of our "hairy" areas, we feel a man is more sexually acceptable if he does the same. If a woman can wax her nether regions and endure the pain a man can seemingly do the same. As for the stretch marks and lip hair, well I know most of us ladies try to avoid such things and you are right many times they are unavoidable, but I bet that the majority of women out there who has these "blessings of nature" has tried some kind of regime to get rid of these "nasty" tricks nature has given us. So it's not an issue of back hair being unacceptable, but more so as being bothersome and unattractive. Think about it women spend hundreds more on product, makeups, beauty and personal care than men do. If a man puts effort into maintaining and up-keeping his body, it gives a woman more of an incentive to put in the painfully staking efforts required to keep us all looking beautiful each and every day.

Back hair, pimples and stretchmarks are *not* much all the same.
Pimples are an infection. Cover-up often aggravates it.
Stretchmarks are usually almost totally an eye-thing, rather than textural. A blind person wouldn't perceive them directly.
Back hair is not only visible, but it's also textural. Additionally, the hair is associated with more active sweat glands, more active than the glands on nigh-invisible areas of body hair.
If the person asking this question is a guy, I wonder if he'd have a problem with going to a beach or a pool with a woman who had back hair as heavy as his. If he'd have a problem, I don't have any sympathy for his whining.
It's common for folk to hassle others who are different. Being usual doesn't make it right. I consider such hassling and hasslers to be just as common as dirt.

A little hair is not a big deal, but a lot of hair on a man's back makes him seem like a furry animal. Ladies go to great lengths to avoid stretch marks, remove upper lip hair and hide thick arm hair (some probably remove that too), so don't be such a martyr.

We ladies do control those things through waxing, bleaching, special creams (for stretch marks), etc. I wouldn't say it is socially unacceptable for men to have back hair, but it is gross. If you have it and you plan to be showing your back consider getting it waxed off. Women get far more sensitive places waxed all the time.

Hang in there ...in 10 to 15 years people will be fertilizing body hair to try and make it grow long and thick like grass. Everything has a cycle.

I think back hair is fine, unless its really thick like gorilla hair, and you make a very valid point.
Just find a girl that likes you for you, because if girls dont like you just because you have some hair on your back.....well then they have serious problems. Don't shave your back just for a girl.
