If You Must Use A Hair Dryer/Blow Dryer Get One Of The New Ones That Use "Ceramic" Heating Elements And "Ionic" Technology (Ceramic Elements Produce "Long Wave" Infra-Red Heat Which Dries Hair With Less Damage. "Ions" Reduce The Attraction Of Water Molecules So They Evaporate Quickly They Also Smooth The Hairs Surface And Eliminate Static And Reduce "Frizz")

Obviously air drying it is probably the healthiest.. but I can't stand having my hair wet for that long.
A year ago I switched to a CHI blow dryer. It was about $130 but it was well worth the money! My hair was so damaged that every time I would blow dry my hair I would have tons of pieces that would break off. My stylist recommended switching and I noticed a huge difference right away.
On the other hand, my sister uses a cheapy blowdryer and her hair is very healthy. I guess it just depends on how often you dye your hair and how much you use a flat iron, etc! But if your hair is damaged at all now I'd definitely recommend investing in one.

It's probably best to let your hair dry naturally. But style is usually not achieved without the tools. If you are in the market for a hair dryer try a low EMF one. You know how hydro lines aren't good for you, the same goes for electrical appliances because they run off AC/DC current. You shouldn't have such devices so close to you. So things like hairdryers that use a lot of power give off these currents and you're putting them close to your head. Try this experiment. Stand with you arm out from your side, slightly ahead of you. Get a friend to push down on your arm. See how much resistance you need to stop your arm from pushing down. Do this again, but hold an electrial appliance that is running in your other hand and see how you do with the resistance test. Your arm should be easier to push down. There are some magnets that reverse this, but you'd have to look into it more.
They make low EMF hair dryers and I see them sold in beauty supply places. Try one of these.

Yeah, its definately worth the money. You want to look for the latest technology, which is usually ceramic and Ionic blowdryers. the ions in the blowdryer help to shrinken water molecules so your hair dries in half the time, which also allows you to put less heat to your hair =) it also smooths out the cuticle of your hair so it appears smoother and shiner.
A few recommendations: T3,CHI, X5, even hot tools.

look around online for a good price.

I have a revlon ionic hairdryer and I love it. It has an ion switch that you can turn on or off (I have mine on). Its the best hairdrier I have had. I think it really helps keep fly aways and frizz down. My mom bought it and I actually took it from her (with permission!!! haha) but I doubt it was too expensive shes not one to spend money on styling tools.
