so to sum up the responses from christians, YES.
Which is too bad, since the story involving original sin is a metaphor, didn't literally happen. So Christianity is worthless. Too bad, i thought it had its merits, but i guess not.

See Deuteronomy 24:16, Ezekiel 18:3-26 and Jeremiah 31:29-31 and it will tell you that Jesus' death did not need to be served as what the Christian religions claim. Original Sin has been cleared a long time ago even after the great flood and after the Exodus.
Jesus' mission was only to bring back the lost sheep of Israel Mathew 15:24. meaning the sins he was to save was the Israelites continuos rebellion against the Commands of God written in the Old Testament. That was why he said I came to fulfill the law. Mathew 5:17-20.
"Man who sins is the one who dies." JESUS AS OUR SAVIOUR IS THE GREATEST DECEPTION EVER MADE.

You have put the cart before the horse, I'm afraid. Man needed a savior, Jesus did not NEED to be the savior. Had man not fallen, God's original creation would have continued unabated. God will not be thwarted, so there will be righteousness on this earth before the end - it's just delayed.

I believe that it is. The fall from grace story tells us that before satan seduced Eve everything was perfect. When Adam entered into the conspiracy
to defy God, this simple act of free well doomed us all to be expelled forever from seeing God, from an easy, work free life, and for women assurance that childbearing would be difficult and painful.

So it is mans' own abuse of free well that created the necessity for Christ to gain forgiveness from God for all of us for the original sin.

It is our own defiance of God that leads to all the misery in the world today. those who cry about God ignoring pain and suffering, and allowing injustice do not understand that free will is a wonderful gift that separates us from the animals. We can't have it both ways; a life with free will while God guides our every move and takes care of us too.

Forgiveness of our sins does not give us a free ride on earth to do what we want; we must do what Jesus has asked, the most important teaching is love; if we truly loved our fellow man, there would be no murder, war and adulty. Love cannot exist under evil conditions.
Jesus' suffering gave us the chance for everlasting life and happiness.

Christians call it original sin; gnostics call it original enlightenment. And Jesus was no sacrifice, that idea was made up by certain disciples who couldn’t believe their god-man died.

Yes because without it, there would have been no sin...thus Jesus would not have had to die and be resurrected to defeat Satans hold on mankind.

Jesus would still be the one who created the universe and the light of men.

Of course. Why would we need a savior if we didn't need anything to be saved from?
