No, its what churches use to scare people into their belief systems. God is all-loving and all-forgiving, while there is karma and punishment, he would never, ever place any of his children in eternal damnation, I don't care what the religious nuts say.

"I hope to God you never have to find out the hard way. No one spoke more on the topic of hell than Jesus. It's funny how people will sooner believe in the existence of heaven than hell, and yet the creator of both is the same. However, both were created for different purposes. "

Hell and damnation didn't enter into the Bible until after Constantine got ahold of it to utilize the concept for control.

Jesus didn't speak about Hell in the context that is grossly misunderstood. Jesus simply spoke about cause and effect. The same cause and effect Buddha and Mohammad and every great insight spoke of.

"Hell" in it's original context, is nothing more than an analogy for lack of awareness. And in that lack of awareness is a constant state of rebirth of mind and matter.

You are caught up on the words, not the meaning. But you don't HAVE to be if you'd simply sit down and attentively follow your breath. After some time doing this, the real world opens up to you and the meaning of those scriptures comes to light.

First of all God was human at one point; *Jesus*. Second there really is a hell. (Some Christians don't think so though, because they feel that God would not allow such anguish on a person's soul.) Lastly, God is not going to do anything to mankind and would not be put to a death sentence. We, as humans with free will are doing all of the bad things to ourselves. We are choosing wether to follow and believe in God or burn for all of eternity in hell. God Bless.

God is real and so is Hell. Hell was NEVER created for humans, it was created for the Satan and the fallen Angels that went with him. To give us any less than what we deserve would be unjust but He did provide Jesus as a way for us to escape that punishment. Free will is why people go to Hell. Why do you think a large number of us Christians talk about Jesus all the time. We don't want you to go there either.

Of course Hell is real. Talk to anyone who survived a Nazi concentration camp. They are all around you. Go ask them.

Talk to the thousands of political refugees who saw their families hacked to pieces, talk to the young children whose hands were hacked off before they were raped.

Oh, maybe this doesn't apply to us because we live in comfy safe America? Think again.

If you have a chance will you make a difference between Heaven and Hell ?
Forget about giving god a jail sentence for a minute. How will YOU react when you learn that the storm troopers are coming to your neighbor's door. Will you leave them to their private Hell, or do you rescue them and create a Heaven (a haven)?

When you see prejudice and bigotry, will you speak up and create Heaven, or will you shrink back and give Hell another foothold?

Talk to the thousands of families in Aalborg, Denmark who made a bridge of boats every night, and saved nearly every Danish Jew right under the Nazis arrogant noses. Now THERE are some people who know what Heaven is. They made it happen. talk to the doctors without Borders, talk to the solar oven people.

It's all what you make of it, right here, right now.

well, what would be the purpose of an eternal torture chamber? it's not like the souls consigned to the Christian version of hell are being punished for the goal of learning a lesson and being reformed. according to Christian doctrine there is no way out of Christian hell, then add to that the rule that billions and billions of human souls (even the souls of basically good people) will be tortured forever and ever because they failed to be born into or convert to Christianity and the whole concept goes far beyond sadistic in it's pointless cruelty.
so no ... Hell isn't real unless "God" is a sick sadistic monster with an infinite propensity for mindless revenge..

If God were human, black and living in the U.S. then his odds of being on death row would be significant even if we didn't know he was God. Especially if he were the Christian god jesus, he'd probably be ridiculed and attacked by the conservatives in our country for supporting free immigration between countries, being anti-war and helping the homeless and underemployed. All humans are equal in his eyes but not ours...

if god the creator of the devil were real you would be powerless and have no free will in anything of the slightest importance . But there is no god nor devil and hence no real hell either .except the ones we make out of ignorance here on earth.

Well, like the old adage says: "You made your bed. Now you have to sleep in it." I have to assume that hell is real because Jesus taught that it was a real place and I don't doubt his words.
