Depends. For someone smoking a cigarette for the first or second time, it is common for them to get a "buzz" from the nicotine.
The buzz quickly goes away with practice (as the addiction becomes stronger).
I have taught lots of people how to quit smoking and often a concern is, but my cigarettes calm me down. Almost always, after quitting, they find the nicotine actually stressed them out more.
Nicotine is an amazing drug; if you puff on a cigarette and inject heroin into your arm at the same instant, the nicotine will get to your brain before the heroin will. Farmers also use nicotin to kill lice on their chickens--it's original use was as a poison..

The only drugs in cigarettes is nicotine. you casnnot get high from it no matter how many cigarettes you smoke. it is possible to feel light headed from somking a cigarette but it doesn't last long. I suggest that if you are smoking to stop as soon as possible. It is not as hard as you think it is. Try reading this book.

It's not really a *high* as with illegal drugs, but it does affect the way neurons communicate with each other in your brain. Nicotine from the cigarettes activates nicotinic receptors in brain neurons, and although complicated this ultimately results in a calming effect, and an increase in feelings of happiness and satisfaction. It's these nicotinic receptors that get used to being active and eventually result in an addiction to cigarettes (really addiction to nicotine). You may become dizzy and nauseous after your first cigarette, or after smoking too many - this is the result of too many nicotinic receptors becoming activated, and possibly because of the sudden reduction of oxygen in your blood - and therefore in your brain. I know this isn't a technical explanation, but the workings of the brain are way too complicated to explain this quickly.

The first time you smoke its an or*gasmic feeling. Like a headspin.
Every smoke you have decreases this feeling until you dont get the "high" feeling anymore and you are left with an addiction. Like many drugs.
Not worth it (says me who has been smoking for 3 years)
There should be more education. I didnt realise that feeling would go away

No it doesn't. You get a bit light-headed but that's not "high".
Then when you get a bit light-headed you wonder why you are still smoking.

The first few times it will make you sick and dizzy. After that, it will just make you die quicker. I quit 5 years ago. Best and hardest thing I ever did. Don't start.
