The original Hebrew and Greek text that has been translated in many English bibles as "Hell" did not mean 'a fiery place of eternal torment'. The Hebrew word "Sheol" and the Greek word "Hades" is accurately translated "Grave". So, when you die, you go to- the grave.
Hence, Ecclesiastes 9:10 states: “There is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol, the place to which you are going.”
The idea that Hell is a place where God punishes sinners was convenient to the church through the middle ages since it helped to ensure control over the masses, and a steady flow of money to the clergy. (There is even to this day a lot of money to be made "praying people out of 'purgatory'")
Nothing like torturing people forever- even people who opposed God, would ever come into the heart of a God that personifies love.
So, to answer your question, no- "hell" was not created by Jesus. It was created by the church.

This is an interesting theological question that will be shut down, sh*t on, and utterly forgotten here on yahoo answers.
If hell is real, since all is out of [Him], does that mean hell comes out of [Him]?
If there is the one principle of life, Him, God, Jesus Christ, whatever you want to call it, then yes, hell comes out of him.
Does that mean that "It" is evil? No. Why? Because if "It" was evil, then there would be no room for good. So obviously it must contain both good and evil.
So if it contains good and evil, and we as human beings like good more than evil, than the principle of life also contains wisdom, so it is beyond good and evil, but is an outpouring of wisdom.
And how does one become wise? By knowing the difference between right and wrong, wrong being hell.
So my friend, seek the upward path of knowledge and enlightenment, and you will not be disappointed.

Dear fair inq,
Romans 11:36- is saying that God is the source (of Him), sustainer (through Him), and goal (to Him) of all things. In the context it is particularly related to Israel's calling and creation.
Jesus did indeed create hell as a place to punish satan and his followers. But it does not mean that Hell comes out of Jesus.
Hope that helps. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
Kindly,
Nickster

Yes, that is true. Hell represents that aspect of God which a consuming fire towards all wickedness. The scripture says our God is a consumin fire. The only thing the Presence of God will not consume is that which is holy. So, if you are saved and anointed of God, His Presence will not consume you. But if you are not saved and at the end of your life you come into His Presence. All the Lord sees is a sinner and his wickedness and that individual becomes consumed in His Presence.

Read Dante's Inferno to see where hell comes from.
The bible only mentions a pit of fire- not burning there for eternity

The scripture clearly teaches that the Logos is Christ who is the Creator. That being the case, Christ created hell.

right here is Piaget's (well-known psychologist) dialectic: he concept-approximately getting to understand as being the interplay of matters with products. once you talk concerning to the international, you do no longer talk concerning to the international. You talk approximately your relationship in direction of that international (that's Piaget's dialectic). extra powerful nonetheless, the assumption is reflexive: when I talk approximately you talking concerning to the international, I talk approximately my relationship in direction of you who talk concerning to the international. If i intend to make it even crazier, i will borrow an concept from Freitag. Language is one among those background following which each and each thing is clever... in an exceedingly needed experience, my perception relies upon on my interpretation of the international (as a results of fact my existence is symbolically mediated, my adventure of the international is definite by skill of the barriers of the symbols i exploit to represent that comparable international to me). And that concept is additionally reflexively utilized as a results of fact i might desire to apply symbols to describe the above. EDIT Is each thing arguable. confident -- and ironically, even this answer is.

Hell is the absence of God. Dark is the absence of light. Evil is the absence of good.
