YES!!! your going to burn in Hell along with Satan and all the fallen angels!!!
REPENT SINNER!!! REPENT!!!

Techniqually, I wouldnt class it as a sin, unless it was a lucid dream (a lucid dream, is a dream in which you awake, and take concious control of).
Otherwise its just your subconcious mind, flashing images and chains of thoughts, maybe its a depiction of a lie you have told, or a lie you must tell.

Though I have never recollected a dream where I have killed someone, because I usually have either jumping extremely high, violent behaviour or myself on the verge of death, as escape keys so I can take concious control (lucid dream). Then fly away and do all sort of stupid crap until i wake up or i slip back into dream and lose control.
Im not a violent person.... but if you are, it may be your mind tell you, your going to an extreme, or your run the risk of it.

Well the thing about dreams is that some dreams are not from God but your own spirit. If you are having dreams where you see sex, lies, murder, idolatry and other kinds of sins. It is because you are exposing yourself to certain influences. It can be "R" rated movies, the wrong people, and on and on. But better yet, whatever is in your dream in your spirit. And if it's in your spirit it in your heart. And if it is in your spirit and heart it is because you have let your guard down to your heart. Which is sin. So someone in your life you have let your spiritual guard down. Pro 4:23 says, "Keep (or guard) your heart with all diligence for out of it spring the issues of life".

Dear Daniel S,

Sin involves our will. When we are sleeping and dreaming we have no control over the things that we dream about. In your examples you are saying that someone violated God's law by dreaming about it- but you would be saying that dreaming is a reality (dreaming and reality are quite different).

No it is not a sin...

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

I say thoughts and dreams don't count, only actions. If you have only thought those things but didn't act upon them then no wrong was done because no one was actually harmed. If you think about eating an apple but didn't do anything, the apple is still there and nothing physically happened, get the analogy?

With questions like this, how can anyone possibly take religion seriously? If this is the measure of the intellect of a religious person, than all I can ask is, how the hell do these people survive in life without supervision?

No, not at all. Dreams are just the mind working things out. Sorting out things you have learned consciously or unconsciously. Dreams are just things to entertain your mind while you are asleep and doing nothing. Something in your body has to be active while you are sleeping and not active.

An thought or dream is a sin only when you act on it.

That is a good question. Never thought of that one. I think you have no control over your dreams so I say no.

a sin is anything that stands in the way of the guidance of the holy spirit of God .doesn't seem to me that any of that would be a sin
