Hint: 1912

This is interesting. My source is the book "Signs of Things to Come." It states the book had a single printing, made a feeble ripple and was then withdrawn until after the Titanic disaster.

"The Wreck Of The Titan" was fiction written by a seaman , Morgan Robertson, about a supposedly "unsinkable" ocean liner.

Sound familiar?........"The HMS Titanic" ring a bell?

There are some eerie parallels between the book and the real life Titanic disaster:

Both ships were supposedly unsinkable
Both ships were on their maiden voyage
Both ships hit icebergs
Both ships had an inadequate number of life boats

The date?..........April 14, 1912.........almost 95 years ago.

Robertson's book was never published. The reason? Publishers all said that..."it is too unrealistic". Robertson wrote his book in 1898...... Fourteen years BEFORE the Titanic hit the iceberg.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, eh?

Hi there Pingrahm,

You are correct. It seems my source should have clarified and stated that the book was not published until AFTER the actual Titanic disaster. Here is my source:

"Robertson's book The Wreck of the Titan was never published. Each time it was rejected by editor's, they told him the same thing. The story was unbelievable. Surely the events he wrote of could not possibly happen to an unsinkable ship."

Thanks for clarifying that. :-)

"Tolerance ought to propose that you're putting up with something you dislike or disagree with" sure. operating example gay sex which i hit upon foul and disgusting even to imagine of. yet I "tolerate it". Why? because it isn't my bottom and that is none of my organization. i hit upon the arguments for tolerance in preserving with "awareness" or subjectivity risky. They propose that if a particular moral isn't subjective or in case you may't "understand" the behaviour you've a suitable to positioned an end to it. you do not, you do not have a suitable to intervene in others lives. What we favor to get with the help of to human beings isn't "fairly awareness our fellow planet-dwellers" yet respect. each and every individual owns his or herself and, realize it or no longer, human beings might want to respect what they do with their own sources.
