God figured that you would go to church to pray that your favorite team or driver would win that day.

Here's a scripture for you, Balaam's Talking Donkey. The donkey was a girl, remember?
2 Peter 2:16 says: But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey - a beast without speech (like Christian women are meant to be in church) - who spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness.
Anyway, back to the question. This reminds me of Genghis Khan. His benevolent rule is lauded and yet he was brutal. "There were tax exemptions for religious figures and so to some extent teachers and doctors. The Mongol Empire practiced religious tolerance to a large degree because it was generally indifferent to belief. The exception was when religious groups challenged the state. For example Ismaili Muslims that resisted the Mongols were exterminated." Here is my question to you. What are fuel taxes like these days? I have no idea what relevance it is, but I'm floundering with NASCAR morality.

OK, this one finally stumped me. Good job. I've been defending the existence of God, the reliability of the Bible, and the plan of salvation for months in this forum, but why God allows my favorite sport to interfere with Sunday activities, I'll never know in this lifetime. Maybe it's because He gets better cable reception when we Christians are at church.

He really doesn't. He doesn't even want preachers to preach on sunday. I'm pretty sure the Jews ordered Jesus Christ himself to be killed because of this. It's called breaking the Sabbath, and it does not please god, especially if you're a preacher by occupation. But then again, who wants to listen to a god that can't even prove he exists anyway?

I think the cable networks made those decisions.
If there is a contest as to who claimed Sunday first, the man upstairs wins.
Sorry.
