Hot Dog Bun Pie
This recipe is like an Egg Custard. I use left over hot dog buns.
4 hot dog buns
1/2 cup of butter or margarine
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of milk
4 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Open buns and lay face down in a baking dish.
Melt butter and pour slowly over the buns.
Combine sugar,milk,eggs and vanilla and pour over the buns.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or untill done.
Serve warm.

Chili Dog Casserole I
Original recipe yield:
6 to 8 servings
PREP TIME 15 Min
COOK TIME 30 Min
READY IN 45 Min
INGREDIENTS
8 hot dog buns
8 hot dogs
1 (15 ounce) can chili
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Tear up the hot dog buns and arrange the pieces in the bottom of the dish evenly. Slice the hot dogs into bite size pieces and layer the pieces over the buns.
Pour the chili over the hot dogs, sprinkle with the chopped onion, then spread some mustard over the chili and the onion. Top off with the cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes.

Corn Dog Casserole

INGREDIENTS
2 cups thinly sliced celery
1 1/2 cups sliced green onions
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 pounds hot dogs (beef and pork frankfurters)
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2 teaspoons ground sage
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 (8.5 ounce) packages dry corn bread mix
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
DIRECTIONS
In a medium skillet, saute celery and green onions in butter for 5 minutes. Place saute mixture in a large bowl; set aside.
Slice hot dogs lengthwise into quarters, then cut into thirds. In same skillet, saute hot dogs for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Add to celery/onion mixture and mix all together. Set aside 1 cup of mixture.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large bowl combine the eggs, milk, sage and pepper. Add all but reserved 1 cup hot dog mixture. Stir in corn bread mix and 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese. Mix all together and spread mixture into a shallow 3 quart baking dish. Top with reserved 1 cup hot dog mixture and remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheese.
Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Waste Not, Want Not French Toast 2 hamburger or hot dog buns 2 eggs 1/4 c milk 1 tsp cinnamon Beat together all ingredients except buns with a fork until well blended. Dip in each side of bun. Place buns in skillet which has been sprayed with cooking spray and heated over medium heat. Cook a few minutes on each side, until browned. Serve warm with syrup.

Ingredients:
2 potatoes; chopped
1 onion; chopped
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sauerkraut
6 hot dogs
1 package bread crumbs
3/4 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon caraway seeds
2 unbaked deep dish pie shells
Directions:
Cook potatoes, onion in 1/2 cup water. Drain sauerkraut and chop hot dogs. Add sauerkraut and hot dogs to mixture and cook for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Gradually add bread crumbs until mixture is moist and thick. Add mustard powder and caraway seeds and pour mixture into uncooked pie crust. Place 2nd crust on top. Prick the top crust and brush with milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
This recipe for Hot Dog Pie serves/makes 4

HOT DOG BUN PIE
1 pound lean ground beef
4 hot dogs , cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 (15 ounce) can baked beans
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
2 ounces Cheddar cheese, cubed
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
4 slices processed American cheese
1 (9 inch) deep dish pie shell
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Bake empty pie shell for 10 minutes.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, stirring occasionally to crumble; drain fat. Stir in hot dogs, beans, ketchup, mustard, taco seasoning, and cheese cubes. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Spread beef mixture into baked pie shell. Cut American cheese slices into strips, and make a lattice on top of pie.
Bake for 5 to 10 minute, or until cheese is slightly melted.
You can also put a crust on top and cut the hot dogs to the size you want them.

Good recipe, but its lacking some info like what size potatos what size onions? If we don't buy packages of breadcrumbs, what equivilent is that to cups? I'm interested! I looked at yahoos search and found nothing on the recipe
