I'm not a police officer, but I would rather deal with a drunk...it's much more entertaining

I'd choose the guy who smoked pot, there usually very easy to control and better control over themselves. As a drunk, you never now what they'll do next, like jump off a bridge seen that. If severely drunk you have to practically beat them to the ground, and even that I've shot drunks with pepper spray and it doesn't even stun them for a second; but of coarse thats when you bring out a officer's best friend the stun gun. The only worry i have with a pot head or more a dealer is if how badly he doesn't want to get caught. I've dealt with plenty of dope heads that would rather go out in a bang instead of going to jail. But again once you have the dope head under control they can me easy to deal with. I've had guys who were doped up that were so relaxed it made my job a lot easier; in some cases if an officer handles the situation properly it can work to his advantage.

I just saw a show on the court channel where a guy was running from the cops in an Escalade and struck a car being driven by a woman 8 months pregnant. When the police finally corraled him he refused to surrender until he finished smoking a joint.
Doesn't matter what they used some people will be dangerous.

Interesting question.
I just heard a former police chief of Seattle being interviewed on the local radio, and he was asked why he supported decriminalization of marijuana.
He stated that in all his years of law enforcement, he NEVER heard of a violent pot head.
Every fellow officer he talked to would have rather dealt with someone who had smoked weed rather than a drunk.

Well in terms of volatility, it's safer to deal with someone who's been smoking the left handed cigarette. They are typically more mellow. Drunks can go from happy to sad, loving to violent, in an unpredictable manner.

i not a cop but i'm in the police explorers and personally, from what i've learned, i'd rather deal w/ a drunk because u have to b cautious when dealing w/ any type of drug base because it could get in any open wounds if allowed. every drug has a different kick to it: crack cocaine hidrochloride to an ice-based cocaine 25% pure it is all dangerous.

A drunk either loves you, or hates you. Someone on weed usually wants to offer you something to eat. I love food.

As a firefighter, I'd go for the drunk. Weed just smells nasty.

I have never had someone who smoked week throw up in my car or use the bathroom in my car.
So give me the pot head anyday

neither.... not all potsmokers are "cool, laidback people" - most are very combative & want to try to argue the "law."
no difference in my 23 yrs as an Officer
