what workouts could i do to build them up?

Actually, much of the power comes from the legs and hips. It also transmits through the midsection.

Any boxer can tell you this. This is why you see their bodies twist whenever they punch. It is also why an uppercut or a cross carries a great deal more power than a jab.

Train the whole body.

punching power starts from the ground up to the legs then through the torso then out the arms to the hands.

legs, midsection & lower back should be the main focus then the upper body. flexibility also plays a big role in generating force. the more flexible a muscle is the more force it can exert through the entire range of motion

Deltoids, Pecktoralis Majors ( Chest ), Shoulder, & trycepts You can do Push ups to Help your Flexibility, and Curls for a start

Biceps & Triceps

Lifting weights is a good exercise. Be sure not to raise them too far over your head or pick up really heavy ones. It is good to start small and work your way up.
