First he's caught cheating during Daytona 500 preparations when NASCAR found a fuel additive in his engine, and was docked a record 100 driver points. Now this past Saturday evening he was charged with reckless driving and failing to report an accident, both misdemeanors. He told police he fell asleep the wheel and woke up to find his car overturned in the gravel. UH YEAH HE JUST WOKE UP AND IT WAS OVERTURNED, maybe the car fairy pulled a trick on him!
well why then When cops went to his home after the accident wouldn't he answer the door? sounds like he's someone NOT NEEDED in NASCAR.

NASCAR is run by these types of people (didn't Bill France Jr do something similar this year?) and will not enforce any penalties without a conviction of a serious crime. However, sponsors may decide they've had enough and stop their support of this losing battle. Fans may have a change of heart and quit blindly following him. He is living on borrowed time and will not last much longer at the rate he is going. In the report on jayski an eyewitness thought there were no survivors and dialed 911. After that Mikey crawled out, without shoes, and she told him she had called the authorities. Upon hearing that he merely turned and walked away without saying anything to her. If you aren't guilty of drinking and driving why wouldn't you stick around to give a report Mikey? Why didn't you answer the door at 2:30 a.m. but did at 8:00 a.m.? If you are as innocent as you say you are then you're even dumber than I thought you were. NASCAR does not need him nearly as much as he needs NASCAR.

Geez you guys are harsh... The fuel additive thing he's already been punished for. Whether or not YOU feel it was enough punishment is irrelevant, thats what NASCAR decided... As for the recent thing, from the report I heard he fell asleep and woke up with the car sliding on the gravel, he couldn't regain control, and hit a telephone pole and overturned. He then went home to try to figure out what to do about his wrecked vehicle and possibly check himself out for injury's. As for him not answering the door when the cops came, he was most likely SLEEPING! There is NO evidence of it being a drinking related accident. I don't see how NASCAR could even consider the possibility of banning him based on the current evidence.

Everything that has happened with Michael Waltrip, and Michael Waltrip racing is pretty crazy... It's been such a downhill season for MWR and Toyota it's just ridiculous. But.. You can't ever think NASCAR would get rid of one of NASCARS biggest fan favorites do you? Or someone that plugs sponsors for himself, and NASCAR 24/7? Get real dude....

This is yet another black eye for Micheal Waltrip Racing. NASCAR may do something, however I think he should be more worried about what NAPA and Toyota are thinking. They pay the bills.

Well he would not be the first and will not be the last.
The actions off track do not affect the racing on the track. He may not have started out real good with Toyota but he does deserve the chance just like everyother team/driver that shows up.
That's all I have to say about that.

Unless he picks it up, Toyota will drop him like a rock. Nascar may fine him for the accident farce but it's not up to them to fire him.

I belive more than anything, Waltrip is super burned out by all thats going on, trying to run 3 cars, and driving one of them, and with all of the troubles going on, its getting to him.

If anything, its time for him to get out of the car for a while.

I think Michael was drunk and that is why he did not answer when the cops showed up. So if that was the case then yes he should be gone. What kind of role model is that.

I think with all the stuff that's going on with Waltip, maybe a one race suspension, but he is in trouble, and from what you read, he can say there was no alchol, but there may have been.
