1300 calories are not enough.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

How much do you currently weigh??--are your goals within a proper range--are you able to survive the day on 1300 calories-??-and where are you getting these calories.?? If you go to a doctor first, then a nutritionist second...you will be on the right track for your diet. playing around with this without a good basis for weight loss, is dangerous. A nice high protein-low carbohydrate diet is easy to maintain and is an easy way to maintain a healthy diet. 1300 calories of silly fad foods will only be disappointing and will cause the binge eating because of the lack of a satisfying food regiment. People who have a proper attitude do well with diets. Never look in a mirror and stay off the scales--any diet quickly takes off 10 pounds--after that it seems as if nothing is happening--causing dispair and that disappointment will lead to eating bad and putting on the 10 pounds you did lose..... get a professional diet guidance that is safe. good luck

1300 calories a day is too low, especially if you're exercising. It's a common misconception that if reducing calories some is good, reducing more is even better. The problem with that is you're starving your body of nutrients, so the only thing you're going to lose is mostly water and muscle. Bodyfat is maintained the most when the body is starving. This is why anorexics have a high bodyfat percentage.

What you should be aiming for is good health, not being too thin.

Take a look at this website to determine your minimum daily caloric intake:

If you eat only 1300 calories a day, you probably don't need to work out at the gym to lose weight, unless you're already on the skinny side. Heaver people need more calories just to maintain their weight.

Unless you are really short, you wouldn't need to exercise at all because 1300 calories a day is about how much you burn just from living. What I would suggest is increasing your calorie intake to about 1500, so that you can still get the nutrients you need and get the health benefits from exercising.

If you only eat 1300 calories a day, you don't have to work out at all to lose weight. Your body burns around 1500 calories a day from just living.

It depends on your height and weight. When you get on the tread mill at the gym you progam in those two things and it will tell you the calories you are burning.

3000 calories = 1 pound.

Simple math, for every 3000 calories eaten, you gain a pound. For every 3000 calories burned you loose a pound. Each person of course is a little different, but the gist of it is the same.
