Adam, people only have opinions based on experience that they fervently feel passionate about. That's all it is.
If you get into an argument about what is truth to someone, both of you lose, because you never get to know the person... only their beliefs.
Just agree to disagree and enjoy getting to know people who have a great attitude toward life so that you can laugh and enjoy your life.

Believe in anything you wish about anything you cannot test or repeatedly observe.
It's a sad world when you can't believe where evidence is lacking.
Where you can test, or repeatedly observe something, apply logic, scientific method, and philosophy.
I am smarter than most (IQ 179), but never better, or worse (silly idea, that), so I do know one thing that may help.
There is no ironclad evidence. Everything is open to question (science prides itself on accepting that as one of it's basic tenets). There's no such animal as absolute proof.
Enjoy the search. It's wonderful when you no longer take any of it personally. Then it's just a matter of sharing and learning for fun, with no self-inflicted pain over being "right" or "wrong".
Keep searching, everyone.

Adam,
I was brought up in church all my life; but always knew there was more than what I knew about believing and knowing our creator. It wasn't until I became an adult with the help of the Lord that he showed me what to believe in. Man did not show me. I do not have all the answers or even clam to be smart, but I did find my answer that I needed a long time ago, through a relationship with God. I am sure if you set in a quit place and searched your heart, your heart will tell you what you need to believe in. Only you know and can find your answer. It will be like a light bulb turning on when you find the answer or you will know without a shadow of a doubt this is the answer. Hang in there and build a relationship with God and he will not mislead you in anything.

That would be too easy. Do your research, read books on different Spiritualities/Religions. No one can tell you what to believe. No there is no ironclad proof, that is why it is called faith.
Never believe that someone else has all the answers. No one has ALL the answers to anything.

I would not be that presumptuous. I am not any smarter than anyone else but I love people because that Jesus Christ Loved me and saved me and He wants me to tell others.
Romans 11:4 - But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
1 Peter 3:21 - The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Praise God!

I get your drift. It's funny, one of the things I learned in law school, is that I would never really be sure of anything anymore. I know a lot more about evidence, now, but I know a damn site less about truth. And BTW, I believe I'll have another beer. Cheers.

I think that you have to decide yourself what to believe. Research different religions, or attend different worship services. If you just believe what other people tell you to believe, then you won't really believe it. I am a Christian because that is how I was raised, and I believe in the things Christianity is about. Other people though, believe in different things. You have to think for yourself on this one. Good luck!

Believe what you feel is the truth. Your truth is all that counts. Live your truth. You give value to all things. That is the problem. Most don't value what they think over what others think. Good Journey!
Belief is just another synonym for "thinking something constantly" You can always change your thinking.

Because that would defeat the purpose. What do we learn through being told, and does the point stay with us as long as when we figure things out for ourselves?
But since you wish to be told, believe in yourself.

LOL
do u believe in wind, or air,
well, my friend u have the right to believe in what ever you want to, and no one can change your opinion.
sometimes its just there it does not need any proving,
look inside your heart and listen to it, if your heart says its right, then it is.
there are things that are totally logical, and we know we can not argue with that remember Mr.Spark in star track . he was always so logical.
do not bother with who is right or wrong, take it as it is and let it go.
i think then life will be much easier for all of Us.
