It always depends on the person. For some people prison changes their lives and helps them see things in a better light, and makes them want to become better. Others may just come out of prison worse than what they started off...so like I said it depends

Think about the reason they got sent to prison in the first place. Whatever they did to get in there, it was pretty bad. I'm sorry, but I believe that anyone who goes to prison deserves to be there and is a bad person. Maybe it is a bit of a stereotype, like maybe they were homeless and they only did something to go to prison so they could get a warm place to stay and food and water and if that's the case that makes me feel a little bit better but still..... they shouldn't have done it in the first place anyway, right? Who's to say that they won't get out of prison, get up, and do whatever it is they did before again? You want to believe them but you really can't because people like that cannot be easily trusted. I hope this helps you.

I'd take it with a grain of salt.
People usually want to change and often believe that they have, even if they haven't. It's always a good thing to give people the benefit of a doubt, but it would also be naive to be too trusting. Trust has to be earned, after all, and actions speak louder than words. If a person expects otherwise, then that is a person not to be trusted to begin with.

Awwww, cmon, you can't seriously be considering believing this guy.
First of all, we've already established that this person is less than honest - hence, jail time. Secondly, a guy in prison NEEDS a link outside, and will say anything to get one.
Do yourself a favor, and steer clear.

people that have chosen a life of crime can change, but it's not very often. they may have good intentions, but it's a real struggle. my suggestion is that they "prove" themselves by demonstrating good decisions, morals, and ethics for at least 5 years after they've been out. then maybe you can believe that they've changed. oh, and they need a job. that's pretty important....

that something happened to him whether physically, mentally or emotionally in prison that he is not ready to talk about. Or he did something that he regrets but can't take it back

Prison doesn't even help fix problems that inmates have, they're still the same person, they might even have gotten worse!
