I dont drink soda or eat any foods with trans fats. I dont eat anything with High fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils. I also don't do too much dairy, I'm a lactose! I eat minimal meat and and I usually have a daily food regimine like this:

Breakfast- Organic Frosted Mini wheats with soymilk
Lunch- Chocolate soymilk, those trixits or whatever they are called (crackers with whole weat), Lunchmeat sandwitch
Snack- Carrots, or a banana, or apples, or sweet peppers, or tomatoes, or a combo.
Dinner- Corn or a quesadilla or spinach. One of those.
And occasionally I will have an Odwalla bar for dessert.
I also drink 6 water bottles throughout the day.
After school I do Windsor Pilates and I have volleyball on fridays and mondays :)

I have Uber flabby thighs and my upper body is in awesome shape! Is it because pilates is a core workout? Should I add dance dance revolution to the mix as cardio? (I have school comitments and that is all I would have time and space for!)

You are not doing anything wrong at all my dear. In fact you sound like you have a very healthy lifestyle. I have been working out for a lot of years now, as well as dieted and my thighs are large as well. Your thigh muscles are one of the places on your body where a lot of fat gets stored, along with your butt and your midsection. ESPECIALLY since you are a girl. It is very hard for women to tone their thigh muscles, so I wouldn't worry about that at all.

If you really did want to try toning your thigh muscles then you would have to include a lower body workout into your week at least 3 days out of the week.

I would suggest doing things like squats, farmers walk, lunges. Those excercises should help to tone your thigh muscles down a bit.

Or you could try building muscle by hitting the gym and doing some leg presses. But again there's nothing wrong with having big thighs, the body NEEDS a place to store some fat and the thighs and butt got stuck with that job.

mm..it seems healthy but a little bit on the fatty side. although your morning wheats are organic and u eat it with soymilk...its FROSTED. not good. soymilk is REALLY healthy for you but, chocolate? not so great. and whole wheat crackers are good for snacking with LUNCHMEAT is a nono. try lean turkey or boiled/grilled chicken breast. lunch meat isnt so healthy and has lots of sodium. afternoon snacking sounds wonderful =) and i dont think you're eating enough calories! u know you need to EAT to lose weight..right? if you dont eat the right amounts (i'd say 1800) your metabolism goes down and end up storing foods in your body, you wouldnt want that now would you? another plus thing is, you're drink enough water!

try cardio such as tae bo.

i do:
tae bo 5 times a week (1hr)
hot yoga 2 times a week (1hr 30mins)

usually cereal that contains in its name "frosted" is not good - look calorie count.
you need more protein, less processed foods (crackers, lunchmeats) more vegetables and fruit

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

Maybe try to squeeze a little more exercise into your days....I don't know much about Windsor Pilates so I can't say, but I would do some running, that is the best thing that you can do for weight loss.

OK, the food menu can use some work. But we will talk about that later.

You need to focus on getting your entire body strong and tight. Sorry but Pilates is a waste of time.

You need to do once-a-week heavy weightlifting.
If you want to discuss it further, write to me here, or go to Allexperts and look under exercise; weightlifting and look for my name.
