I find that heat packs helps the cramping....also a salt reduced diet...

For me, right before and during my cycle, if I don't avoid dairy ESPECIALLY cheese, my cramps are a lot worse. It got to the point where I had to go to the doctor. She told me to drink lots of water, hot herbal tea (avoid caffeine). Also, this might sound crazy, but if I've been consistently exercising (cardio especially) my body handles my cycle a little better. I was told that this reason is because the blood is allowed to circulate easier within the body leading to a decrease in clotting and therefore cramps:) One last thing, to go to sleep or when I'm trying to relax, I will fill up an empty plastic bottle with hot water and just rest it on my stomach. It really does ease the pain. Hope some of this helps!

A heating pad helps.
As for food I like yogurt myself as for if it helps with cramps I really never noticed.
Rest helps sometimes too.
Try not to drink too many liquids because it makes you bloat more too.
It will pass, until next month and I would rather have that than the alternative.

For a very long time I have had very bad periods. I am now in my forties. Mine are still bad. I have tried all sorts of things, changed eating, drinking, what ever... each month is different. None of that denying myself of what my body craved ever helped. You will just have to use trial and error because all of us are different. What works one month, might not the next. So, eat what you want! Why be unhappy and cramping anyway!?!

Well... good foods for me are warm food like a nice bowl of chicken soup or something that's easier to digest like fruits and vegetables. I would stay away from burgers and pizza!!! That makes it soooo much worse! Some advice from me should be to only take pain relievers when you need it! Don't just take one just because you got your period!!! Some good pain relievers Midol or Pamprin and Advil or Tylenol! (:

Advil is the only thing that really helps. I eat a huge Symphony bar with toffee chips. That helps with attitude. Heating pad helps too. If you are over 21 a glass or two of wine helps.

Even though anything sweet looks irresistible, you have to resist because it just makes your cramps worst. So I stick to my usual diet, oatmeal, sandwiches, chicken, and so on. Avoid carbs cuz they will just contribute to the bloating. And seriously exercising is like magic to the cramps, blood flow(it decreases it), and bloating. And if you just cant exercise because you hurt too much, get a heating pad and drink tea. And of course, midol.

Avoid salty foods. A heating pad always helps. It may sound counterproductive, but excerise works great on cramps. Go for a walk.

green tea is great for cramps, excerise helps.sodas can hurt you when you have cramps, junk foods are not good,no cold food like ice cream,it can really hurt you.even those little heating pads that clings to your clothes, and stays warm for 12 hours helps a lot they can be brought in drug stores.

ibuprofen & a heating pad. food never made a difference for me. Hint: you have the take the pain reliever at the very first sign of cramping to ward it off and keep taking for however long they usually last, otherwise they're hard to get rid of once they've set in.
