I prefer the sound of the KEF. They're both good performers, I just prefer imaging and soundstaging over super crispness. I also believe the KEF is a more balanced speaker than the Klipsch that you are considering for my overall taste.

I have always felt that the sound coming from a Klipsch speaker was just a little bit more harsh. KEF is a good brand with a solid reputation, where as Klipsch is a little hit or miss. I personally own a pair of the KEF speakers running off of an ADCOM amp, and they sound stellar. I would go with those, but the main thing that will affect your sound is the source and the amp. Make sure they are up to snuff as well, or you are wasting your money on speakers.

I have been disappointed as of late with the quality of klipsch over the last few years. Mass production and cheap materials have ruled out all but the reference stuff for me. Kef has upheld the banner of quality a little better.
Yet speakers are so subjective. Head out to a quality audio store (NOT BEST BUY) Bring some software and audition a few pairs.
Just bought a pair of Legacy Whispers and I couldn't be happier
Listening to a thunderous ELP Brain Salad Surgury as I type this

i would go with the Klipsch RB-51. I listen to the same stuff and i know that it sounds a bunch better it you have a good base speaker. The one on the top. Also, if u read the description it seems like it has more useful features. Alothough the KEF IQ1 does cost less and also seems to have a decent base speaker. My opinion, either would b fine.

I vote for the KEF, a much warmer sound in my book. The Klipsch sound is a tad bright.. Also take a look at B&W..

I like the KEF but you might find the Klipsch better for rock, especially if you listen to it loud.

Both are excellent. Listen to both and pick the one that sounds best to you. That is the only thing that matters.
