they most probably hold the theory that the shroud of turin was an elaborate replica created by DaVinci himself. Therefore, it may fall under the category of "blasphemy" which would not be wanted in a "holy city" such as the vatican.

Can't answer that one, I would guess that they want the turists because money is always a motivating factor.

As for the shroud of Turin, if I remember correctly, they used a newer method of carbon dating called isotrace that only needs a small molecule to count the elements. It showed it several centuries past Calvaries time. And many forgeries appeared during the Dark Ages.

Its existance, validity, or falsity should not alter ones faith. Remember when people asked for a sign? Jesus respoded that none would be given except the sign of Jonas. "If you do not believe Moses and the prophets", He said, "you will not believe even if one was raise from the dead."

How displayably true. He was speaking in parables about Lazarus and the rich man, but in reality He knew that those who did not believe all the miracles He did, would still not believe after His resurrection from the dead.

Does this speak to us today, Can we by faith accept what evidence God has given us in the Bible, or do we need relics to boulster our faith? I hope not.

Blessing in AGAPE love,
