if you want to remove an icon on your desktop, just right click and hit delete

All you have to do to remove an icon on your desktop is right click on the icon and select delete, this will remove the short cut to the program but not the program it self, another way to remove icon's is to use the desktop cleanup wizard this will put your unused icon's in to a folder so that if you do want to use them at a later stage you can restore the icon that was removed, good luck

If it is on your desk top, it is just a short cut to the app or program. Just right click it and remove it. You may just want to change it, if so, right click, go to target, again right click and then click "change icon". There are other options that let you make that icon short cut anything you want it to look like.

Right click the Icon and delete it. That's all, the program will not be deleted, just the icon will.

You should be able to remove the icon by going to desktop appearance, and then icons, and remove the icon you want.
You can right click to get to desktop.

Only delete from the desktop if it's a shortcut. Right click and delete.

If it's not a shortcut then open a folder, programmes/my documents or wherever you want and then drag and drop it there.

if i remember correctly .. there is an app called windows configurator that allows deleting add/remove program entries ...

You can't. Unless it's a windows update then there's the option to not show windows updates.
