Adding Intelligent Design to science texbooks is not a compromise because it is real science. I doubt most people know the supporting evidence used for ID. The Bible is obviously not a science texbook but it only makes sense that since it's view on origens is the most universally accepted one and thus should at least be mentioned in science because of its widely accepted cosmology which can not be ignored in the real world. To be fair, "macroevolution" belongs in the comparative religion classes.

No and No.

Please, let’s not compromise the teaching of science or the traditions of faith.

I don’t believe the story of Eden is meant to be taken literally anyway, so it wouldn’t make sense to add anything.

I'd just like to point out that intelligent design is a completely different, completely logical, thing from creationism as is stated in Genesis. I can see your rejection of Creationism. Yet, intelligent design has to be. Everything on earth is so complex and fits together so well in their own enviroment, I can see no way that it could have all happened by chance.

In principle it may not be a bad idea, but how do you modify a classic? That's like rewriting 'Huckleberry Finn' so it'll be politically correct. You just can't DO that.

Why add proven science to a book full of lies?
