So I met this lady that spoke Japonese at a school's international fair, and her children go to the same school that my brother does. So, I wanted to contact her by e-mail. I looked her name up on the school phone book ( but I am not quite sure if it is actually her because her name is japonese and it was hard for me to remember)

Any ways I want to send an e-mail to the person that I am pretty sure is her. What should I say on the e-mail, that way it won't freak out any one if I have the wrong person?

Just start with something like "I hope this message reaches the right person" and then say what you have to say. Everyone (ok, every adult who's had an email account for a while) has at least once received a misdirected email, it's not a big deal.

Well first it's spelled Japanese. The best thing would be to ask your brother to get their number if your unsure it's her information. Calling her would be a better option.
But if it would feel awkward calling someone to help, then there are several other ways you can learn to speak Japanese. I'm sure your local library would have books on that subject. Local book stores sell auto books and computer programs to learn all different languages. It would be better to try that way and not email a stranger.

Learn to spell Japanese. And I found that a Japanese grocery store is the best place to make friends with nice Japanese ladies. They like to be together naturally, and they can help you with your questions. They are nice people, as a rule.

I think you've already figured out what to say (the memo at the bottom of your question). If you indicate you are the person she met at the fair (and in fact she wasn't the one) either you'll get no answer or a polite "wrong number" email..

You can just start with: "Hello there! I am ..., remember?.." and so on. When she replies to you, probably she'll write her name at the end of the email, as the ordinary person would do.
