Im getting married and am having a western wedding. Ive had the idea of having my fiance and I joining 2 horseshoes. We came across the problem of that not taking enough time, as well as having our mothers do something before the ceremony. The only thing we can come up with is the lighting of candles then have my fiance and I also light the unity candle in the middle and the horseshoes.
My question is what are some other ideas we could do for our unity event? As well as the mothers thing for the start of the ceremony?

I went to a wedding where they did unity sand. They have two thin tubes of sand, one for the bride and one for the groom and they both poured their sand in a larger clear tube at the same time to resemble two lives becoming one. If you want your mothers to do something they could each fill a thin tube before you guys fill the large ones. That and candles are the only unity things i've heard of.
