I ask that we love one another. 6And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. 7Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. 9Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. 11Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.

Study the scriptures and confront Jws with the truth. Once they determine you are well versed and informed, most will not return, or they will return with an Elder or more experienced person. If you're able to hold your own with them, they' will take you off their door to door list.

Most of their time is spent with people who have little knowledge of the Bible, are young, or are confused and searching, because they're more open to being influenced.

How often has anyone seen a JW try to explain their beliefs to an experienced Pastor, Preacher, Bible teacher, or long term born again Christian of another religion? If they are sincere about preaching to all the nations, that includes these people as well.

There's a communications problem going on here. The Asker is convinced JWs spoke to him; they denied the deity of Christ and apparently said Jesus is no more than a prophet. By a simple process of elimination we can be sure the callers were not Mormons, because they happily tell people they believe Jesus is God. They never get annoyed at anyone who believes in the Trinity (even though their interpretation of it is un-Christian). What other religious group that denies the Trinity ever calls at peoples' homes? None! So the misunderstanding likely lies with the idea that Jesus is 'merely' a prophet.

JWs would be offended at that idea because they say he is God's Son who was used by Jehovah to create everything (as Michael the Archangel). So that certainly puts him in a realm higher than a mere prophet, though still denies the Trinity. The Asker's high view of Christ, as the Second Person of the Trinity, would not allow for this lower view, and to him (or her) it would seem the JWs were relegating Jesus to an unacceptably low level. Hence the disagreeable outcome and this question.

It is, however, disengenious of JWs to answer that JWs could not possibly have called if they said Jesus was just a prophet. If English is not the first language of the Asker, it should be obvious that playing a semantics game is not nice. To stop further calls, the Asker should put a polite notice outside his home saying JWs (and/or any other religionists) are not welcome.

Some define sect to mean a group that has broken away from an established religion. Others apply the term to a group that follows a particular human leader or teacher. The term is usually used in a derogatory way. Jehovah’s Witnesses are not an offshoot of some church but include persons from all walks of life and from many religious backgrounds. They do not look to any human, but rather to Jesus Christ, as their leader.

The Jehovah's Witnesses go from door door to respect what Jesus commanded.

"Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit." -- Matthew 28:19

If a person doesn't want to listen to their message (the good news) he can say politely that he is not interested. They will understand and leave.

"If, now, I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news!" -- 1 Corinthians 9:16

"Wherever anyone does not take YOU in or listen to YOUR words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off YOUR feet." -- Matthew 10:14

The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus is God's son, his first creation. They believe that his sacrifice makes possible salvation to eternal life for those who exercise faith.

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation." -- Colossians 1:15

"The Father is greater than I am." -- John 14:28

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. -- John 3:16

The Jehovah's Witnesses don't get angry when someone contradicts them. They are trying everyday to manifest "the fruitage of the spirit".

"On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law." -- Galatians 5:22, 23

INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO ABOUT DOOR KNOCKERS

The best way to learn what to do to stop JWs is to contact a synagogue and talk to the Rabbi.

Ask him how the ancient Jews got rid of the Christian Jews when they went from house to house telling their brethren that the beliefs, rituals, and holiday observances that they have followed for hundreds of years was no longer valid?

I’m sure the ancient Israelites had ways to get rid of the members, who from their point of view, were a Jewish cult started by an uneducated Jewish lower class Carpenter, who was executed for cause by the governing authority. The only education he got was from his lower class parents, Mary and Joseph. These followers were also of the Jewish lower class, and uneducated, such as Peter, a failed fisherman, and Matthew, a tax hated collector.

Lacking any kind of education, let alone advance religious education, it was clear to those around them that they were brainwashed into believing that the uneducated ex-carpenter was somehow the Messiah, which was clearly false as it was commonly known that when the Messiah came, he would destroy (Armageddon) the enemies of the true people of God, as foretold.

Saul of Tarsus, a highly educated individual in the religious arts, repeatedly proved they were a false religious sect and cult, creating their own scriptures (Bible) instead of relying on the Holy Torah, which had been used by the Jews for hundreds of years. He often stood by as the true believers of God stoned these so-called Christians for their door to door activities and spreading of false doctrine.

Now, I would not recommend stoning, but they may have had other methods that worked to stop the house to house work and the spreading of false doctrine. What worked for them against the this Jewish cult may work against the JW Christians, as the are just repeating the same mistakes and errors in beliefs as Peter, Matthew, and all the others they had convinced to turn their backs on God's true followers, Israel.

It would seem that this questioner's visitors were not actually Jehovah's Witnesses. Is there even a single JW who believes that a real JW would ever choose to refute the trinity by introducing the word "prophet" as if it were the primary role of the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Savior and Messiah, Son of God, Wonderful Counselor Jesus Christ?

The idea is as preposterous as a Witness saying, "Jesus isn't Almighty God, he's a carpenter", or perhaps "Jesus isn't the Father of himself, he was a teacher". Witnesses are not known for injecting bizarre non-sequitors into doorstep conversations.

Jehovah's Witnesses are experienced as door-to-door ministers, and well-educated at nearly five hours of congregation meetings each week. To the Witness mindset, Jesus is so glorious and highly exhalted that it actually sounds odd to Witness ears to even HEAR Jesus called "a prophet" as though that were the most (or tenth) most important part of Christ's role in the Divine Purpose (of course, Jesus was and is a prophet, in addition to being the agent who created the entire universe!).

No Witness would EVER pretend that Jesus was a mere human prophet. Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians who teach that Jesus Christ was and is divine and of the same nature as God.

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. But Jehovah's Witnesses recognize the bible truth that Jesus the Son is distinct from and not equal to God the Father (see Scriptures below).

As mentioned above, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.

(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation

(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God

(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God

(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth

(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak

(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am

(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him

(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father

(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God

(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

Hi, not sure where the question is. No, we do not believe Christ was a prophet and nothing else. Whomever you spoke with either was not a Witness or there was miscommunication. Please learn what we believe before you misquote us.

In regards to Princess Yum-Yum's remark, I mean Sasi, they are just SO similar, it is not disingenuous of us to say if there is no communication error the person was not a Witness. It is simply a fact. We are not just using semantics.

If you want to get rid of them buy the book on cults and asked them to answer some questions about the book, another one is ask them about the failed false prophasy of 1914 by Charles T. Russel.
