How can I ward off evil spirits?

I honestly feel that my body has been invaded by an evil spirit twice in the middle of night and both times were extremely frightening and traumatic to me. The two incidents occurred about 8 years apart from one another with the more recent one happening just a few days ago. I was lifted off my bed more than one foot and my body was shaking uncontrollably while a very strong wind was blowing through the room.

Does anyone know what I can put in my bedroom to ward off the evil spirits? I'm going to put a large cross up on the wall but is there something else I should be doing?

There may be any reason for the presence of an evil spirit in your house. You must find out. Books, magazines, photos, articles, toys and even video disks may cause the presence of the evil. Check whether there is any ancient thing is there. There is nothing in this world without the possession of evil. They possess both live and lifeless things in this world. Certain things are possessed by bad spirits and certain things are by good spirits. If the number of bad spirits increase in your house the good spirits will lose it's power and they cannot control them. You must see what can you do to increase the number of good spirits in your house. It's also good to keep the books and articles which are considered as sacred and good. Even if you don't have belief you have to do it. There is also another way to drive the evil from the house. That is, making the evil to believe that it will be hurt or tortured if it remains there further. For this you need mind power. At first you must believe what you think and then start to threaten the evil. It should not be as if you are pretending. Your acting must be natural and real. I think real magicians have this talent. Calling a priest is not bad. To drive certain spirits you should not use harsh words. Your threatening must be in a different way. It may be polite with the point that God or good spirits will punish them. If you have Ouija board in your house don't use it but burn it. Redemption is necessary if you and your family had done some sins in their lives. If it's a rented house, it's better to quit because certain spirits never go so easily. God cannot watch each and every human being at the same time. That's why He had created the spirits to watch, guide and determine the destiny of the human beings from their daily activities, talks and thoughts too. Your past determines your present and your present determines your future. God has given freewill to all creatures including human beings. According to this, all human beings have all right to live a life as they wish. But if it happens to be bad and hurts someone, they have to face the consequences. It's a natural system. After death no one lives in any form. Heaven and hell are only for spirits. A human being is not a single spirit. All knowledge, skills, feelings, emotions, interests and everything are spirits or invisible elements. Even thoughts are not your own. A human being is just a robot made of different materials (flesh, bones, tissues etc.,) and toy of the spirits for their games.

First if I was in your shoes I would make sure that everything is okay physically and mentally. I'd get a health check up and also talk with someone about any anxiety or other symptoms I might be having.

Then I would call upon my faith. If I was Christian I would pray regularly, I would use a cross on my wall.

I'd do what I can to relax and not overly focus on this. I would also insist on my safety and protection, I would not entertain notions of being open to any type of spiritual attack.

Pray to God to help fight off the demons and tell the demon out loud to go away. The cross and the bible scriptures Psalms chapter 27 verses 1 and 2 may help. I had a problem somewhat similar to that when I moved into my first apartment. Don't know if it was in my head or real but that's what helped me. Also try to look up a pastor or a priest to help.

I realize this is an old question, but I hope my answer will still be of help to more. I believe demons also can make you think crazy thoughts to distract you and discourage you. So just to help you in your battle remember that. Before you start preparing yourself to rid of the evil spirits pray to St. Michael the Arch Angel -
"St Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O' Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."

It also helps to annoint your self and you home. With olive oil that GOD has blessed. Take a small vial and ask GOD to bless it for annointing purposes.

seek help right away, and don't put a cross up on the wall. this will not help, as God doesn't approve of the cross being used anyway, or any image for that matter.

look up your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses under churches in your yellow pages & start a study of the Bible. this will teach you how to get rid of any connection w/ the spirits you may now have.

I've always heard that Psalms ward off evil spirits....
as David has written most of them, he had helped Saul to become well............

"And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play [it] with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him (1Sa 16 : 23)

Assuming you are not pretending...

Make sure you get rid of anything occult in your house.
If you practising any occult stuff .. stop.
Get help from a local church, if you can find one that has some understanding of supernatural things. They may be able to do some cleansing ceremony in Jesus' name. The former residents might have been occultists? Many churches won't be of much help.
It helps if you are a christian.
If it happens again, cry out, 'Save me Jesus'.

I heard of this once happening to a missionary who went out to India. There is lots of occult stuff going on there.

the question is Are You religious? and if you are what does your religion do to ward off evil?

and if you aren't maybe you should talk to a Doctor. I have heard that this is a mind trick. like a dream of some kind. just ask a Doctor. but i know its NOT evil spirits.
