Shared computer, me and my parents. Windows XP. 160GB, 512 MB RAM, 3300+ ADM Athlon 64 Processor. I tried Scandisk, and defrag, but it didn't work.

If you choose that option, Linux will delete Windows and re-format the drive (And all data will be gone).

TIP: Back up all personal data first.

Instead, look for the option to create a new partition and install Linux in dual-boot mode. When done, you will be able to choose Windows OR Linux at boot time.
