Probably the best argument that you will get from any software vendor is that you can't trust the code when working with cracked software. You'd like to think that the cracker only bypassed the software protection but you just can't guarantee that they didn't embed some spyware or malware. For the keygen you'll have a similar situation but not in the application you want but more in the keygen software itself. You may run it to get a key/code but it could also be running software to load some unwanted software on your system too.
From a performance standpoint, keygen doesn't really have an effect as it essentially is licensing the software, just in an illegal method. For cracked software, you could potentially have a performance increase, especially if the protection code is stripped out and the original implementation actually performed slowly. You could also find that cracked software had to insert new code that is slower than the vendor code so you really can't say except on a case by case basis.

You cannot recieve free updates, Ill take it you mean security patches and so on. You may be a little wrong there. My XP was fully updated. as theres a way around everything. Note as i said WAS. I have now got the real thing after 3 yrs as i am now satisfied that i am safer with the updates applied than XP was for the first 3yrs.

They work the exact same way as the original....... EXCEPT for OPERATING SYSTEMS like windows 98 ME XP VISTA... the only disadvatage to using a crack copy of operating systems is that you cannot recive free updates but other programs.. work exact... a crack is the actual program files. cab files etc.... the only difference is that the key or serial is not genuine...

As long as your getting true warez from people like razor1911 or reloaded then the programs are just as good

it depends, get the crack off a decdent forum with a good community your probably safe but if you dont know then dont bother
