Ok. For the first time in a good while I need some dog help. I have a maybe 1yr. old black and Tan coonhound mixed with i think some lab and doberman.. She is trained and a very well behaved dog. I have one problem though. She jumps our backyard fence and goes into our front yard... now this is ok because she will not go into the street or say hello to others dogs but on a bigger note it is not ok. I have only caught her in the act one time though. I have no idea how to train her not to do it since she never attempts to when I am with her. I also do not have the money for an eloectric fence. Is there someone out there who can help me?

It would be very appreciated!

Nicole

This is not an immediate fix, but...

Plant some running rosebush, or other thorny plants along your fence. Believe me, this discourages climbing. But if your dog is a jumper you may just have to extend your fence upward.

Your dog should always be supervised while outside. If you are away for short periods that you cannot watch, put her on a long overhead lead that runs from one end of the yard to the other.

Make your fence higher.
