Different companies and they have different scanners for the chips.
The two largest companies are AVID and Home Again.

I don't know about 24 watch, mine are avid chip. But My vet is talking to me about Home Again. Wondering if I want to switch. Avid is a one time fee. Home again You pay a one time implantation fee to your vet.. then a 10.00 One time Activation fee.. then you pay and annual Membership fee of 14.99. She said home again will go out further. What I have study of the home again I think they give you stuff that you can do on your own if you own a computer. Home again will give you space to where you can create your lost pet poster, which you can do yourself...Medical information which you have on record anyway..or should anyway..In my opinion , which is up to each person. I will stick with the Avid chip mainly because Home Again membership yearly fee is now 14.99 it is hard telling how often it will go up. And with me having 9 dogs that can get costly. I can do myself what Home Again will provide. I am sorry I have not clue what the 24 watch is. So I have no opinion on that one.

They all work the same. Just depends on what they charge. I guess I not need one, as my dog stays with me and not run off. I think there are people that can teach a dog to stay. I did it myself, really not hard.

I have been told my answer seemed demeaning and that not my intention. I just wanted to say how I train my dogs and I did not mean what I said to come across wrong.
