You can have evidence without proof, but you cant have proof without evidence!

Evidence is the results of an observation or experiment. Proof is evidence that makes a hypothesis true or false. Hypothesis is the building block of a theory.

There can be evidence that I have been around since atleast 1985.....That does not necessarilly mean that there is proof that I was born in 1983.
