erin;

a complete and thourough knowledge in the bible and christianity. and then higher education. rationalization using my common sense. because when i was younger i was truely one of those people with childlike faith. only now that i look back i realize that i have never felt better than when i realized that no way in hell could a god be like the god that is created in the bible. it is simply from thought and reflection that made me realize how ridiculous all of this was. one religion arguing with another over basic principles....its ubsurd. any way i can go on and on and on with this soap box. i guess i could ask you a counter question like "what made you stop believing in santa clause" and although it sounds remedial and the answer simple the same applies in my point of view about christianity, bible, and god

I think, nobody says "Bible" in the question!
Or did you Heather?
You are talking about " … Book not able to tell a lie " hummm,
From what BOOK you got this lie Heather?
If we are talking about the same concept of BOOK, Books may be more animated and more alive than the one that may be reading these notes. Books may hide the sweet smell of the most spectacular roses, the taste of their honey dripping from their hearts and their colors, colors of the rainbow that only in your dreams you may see, or that that only on those pages you may be blessed to live.
Books, also may be no more and no less than the coffin holding the nastiest smell of Death, the nauseous images than you ever imagine, and the dippiest darkness your eyes will never see. Those books may make you seek, take away your sleep, may intoxicate you... with the misery of true and the loftiest concoction of lies poison you... and kill … not only you, but you soul,
With all my respect ... I hope you are reading the right book.
Take care,
Sal

The works of John, Mathew, Luke and Mark contradict each other at times, and sometimes there events left out by some, added by others.

There are many contradictions in the Holy Scriptures. Theo's agree on this,

There are warnigns about Paul as well. (Paul was not an orginal apostle to Jesus and came later.)

These scriptures were written hundreds of years after the life of Jesus. There have been works found that were left out of the "original version" and especially those of women.

There are passages within the scriptures that are "demonstrations" by traditions, to express God's acceptance and rebuke.

There are passages that are descrpitive in the traditions, that demonstrate same gender marraige, marriage of Mary Magdalene, etc that are ignored.

As we call members of the Catholic faith "father" "Cardinal" etc, in the times of Jesus there were those that were called by other names, that were later interpretted as "angels"

Basically, do you believe that there are men on this earth that can accurately write the history 300, 200, 100 years ago? Without bias or error?

Man kind is flawed.

Man, as a gender has ruled the earth since ?
The war's are started by men only to be surpassed by the greed of men.

The sexual theift of women, boy & girl children in many country, including our own USA is a man's domain.

Those that lead, and command the power must accept accountability goes hand in hand with the responsibility of their authority. saddam hussain didn't accept it willingly, but he got his due. Arrogance on his part created a monster, with the help of reagan administration. Same for bin laden.

Those that proclaim they are superior must accept the accountability for their acts. It's in the OLD and the New Testiments.

Incidently, in the old testiment, Genisis, it states that Satan will be crushed by the heel of a WOMAN.

I'll bet my life, my children, and grandchildrens lives that God hasn't changed God's mind.
Regardless of the countless times men have changed the words of the Holy Scriptures.

I'm sorry that you are falling for the biggest liar there is. Satan is the father of lies who uses anything to decieve us, including twisting the Word of God, human logic that is limited by our human brain, and popular opinion of man. Unless our minds, understanding and hearts are changed by the power of the Holy Spirit that God gives to us, you will be fooled by satan and not even know it. The Word of God tells us that if you do not have the faith which is from God above, you will think God's Word is foolish. The "Book" is not just a book, it IS the Living Word of God that is alive in men of faith. Unless you accept and receive Faith in Jesus, you will not understand, no matter how much any of us tell you. Let go and let God open your blind eyes to Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life!! It's your choice.

Not all books contain history. It could just be an amazingly thought out fantasy. There is no proof that He ever existed, and if He did, then there would be evidence and a shrine and such. I think the Bible is just a story.

Constatine converted to Christianity much later in his life. Like every Christian he was a sinner like the rest of us.

You're right about the Bible. It contains truth. People pick up the book and skew the truth because Martin Luther told them that private interpretation was acceptable.

It isn't. Only the Holy Spirit guides us to all Truth and the Holy Spirit guides the Church, not every single person. Otherwise, we would all be an equal authority with Christ.

Heather! Constantine was Emperor and made himself the first pope... and history is my favourite subject and always was... You know what false religions have done to your former beliefs! The very history of popes is astoundingly horrible from beginning to end, if you just bother to dig enough to find out about it... Why! the very Sicilian Mafia stems from them! As for the Bible, why is it so incredible to you that a God Creator of the whole universe could ever pick a few good men (and women) and use the power of his active force to inspire or tell them what to print! whatever it is that He thought we needed to know to get by in this present satanic system of things? Wouldn't you do at least that if God forbid, anything should happen that would force you to leave you own children in someone elses care or keeping for any length of time? Even if it was your own mother, you might do it... Well, in the beginning, when he left us in his spiritual son's care Lucifer, he was a good angel... It's only when he saw the possibility of all that he could do with such power, that it went to his head and began to want to be more than the small "g" god that he was and decided to get the sort of worship for himself that belonged to his Father only but he chose to call this one a liar instead and go ahead like a dummy to set himself as an arch-enemy and opposer of this Father. The last thing we ever want to do is to follow in his footsteps as he is going aroung real angry, seekikng to devour everybody and we simply must help one another to be better equipped to defend ourselves from such a formidable enemy! Don't you agree?
The Bible isn't much more than a list recommendations from Him, the true God, who's name, whether pleasing or not to most blinded by Satan, is Jehovah!
Don't you yourself have your own of "to do and not to dos" as it were?
It wouldn't even surprise me to find out that you already give such a list to your baby-sitters when you must hire one to watch over them temporarily!!! God, our heavenly Father loves us even more and I promise you Heather, that it is absolutely in His power to keep one single book alive with the power of His truth as He is Almighty and cannot lie... Show me another book that stood the test of time half as much as this one did!!!
Take care!!!

My point exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Constatine was baptisted on his death bed when he was inccapable of protesting!
The only reason he chose Christianity as the main religion is he saw $ in it. And when was the last time anyone read a book that someone HAD NOT taken a poetic licsense with?
