At 12 you want to start "dating"? Like going to the movies kissie kissie huggie huggie type dating or the hang out in school pass notes to one another talk on the phone type dating?
I'm guessing you're probably not ready, and you shouldn't force the issue. Trust me, there is plenty of time for all that. Right now you should focus on your education and just having fun.
But if you think you are ready for dating, the types of girls you are into will come naturally. You will know who you like and who you don't. Plus, what you look for in a girl will definitely change as well.

PS And by the way, DO NOT discount the nerdy girls who are unattractive now. They will grow up and become beautiful. My wife was an ugly nerd in school, and I teased her terribly. Luckily for me I latched on to her when I did. Because not only is she VERY beautiful, she's also a successful business woman.

SHOULD BE CONCENTRATING ON BEING A KID.
PLAYING VIDEO GAMES, PLAYING SPORTS, HANGING
OUT WITH THE BOYS, GO BIKE RIDING AND ETC,ETC,
ENJOY YOUR KID YEARS. CUZ ONCE U ARE GROWN

i'm 13, but i don't know what to tell u, it depends on wht type u like! go 4 anything! you have to try things out before you know yur type of girl!

i personally like the shy girls and not the extremely popular girls, don't go too nerdy, or too beautiful because then she would be out of your league, average to hi average is good enough hope it helped---------------------CJ+ALLIE
