Yes it can. We need about 6- 8 glasses of liquid per day.. the best liquid for us is water cause we are 83% water. I only drink about 4 glasses water a day and drink herbal teas on top of that!
Oh some people say that for every cup of coffee U drink you should drink 2 glasses of water! That won't work for me though!

Drinking too much water can hurt you. The fluid requirement for the majority of endurance athletes is, under most conditions, is about 8 to 16 ounces per hour. Water intoxication affect normal people, too.

Yes. I drink nothing BUT water. Although I only drink what I am comfortable with. Usually 1/2 -1 gallon per day, depending on activities.
A good rule of thumb is don't drink more than you are comfortable with, but more importantly, Never "hold it in" for any longer than is necessary, as toxins will build up in your system.

Too much water in a short time span can be harmful or even fatal.
Plenty of water spread through out the day is harmless, in fact good for you.
Read about water intoxication also known as water poisoning at the links below in the source section.

look for activated charcoal filters. the longer the water stays in contact the better.i used new in box old aquarium charcoal i had siting around for years.it worked fine for tap water.i put about an inch or more in a gallon water jug.it sat at the bottom and i used it after 24 hours.it worked so good i made another and could wait 48 hours. distilled water is fine but not for long term it will start to pull the minerals out of your body brita filters do not remove toxic fluoride and this filter is 4 times better and bigger

Is not how much water you drink, but how fast you drink.
Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body.
From the cell's point of view, water intoxication produces the same effects as would result from drowning in fresh water.
The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time.

You can drink too much water and cause an elecrolyte imbalance. This can result in death. You need to talk to a doctor about a safe amount of water to drink.

Yes, drinking too much water can cause H2o poisoning. But you're drinking just over 3 L per day, that sounds about right for an avg. adult.

You can drink too much water but it is pretty hard. I've heard of someone who was in a radio contest to see who could drink the most water for concert tickets. A woman drank so much water she got hypernutrimia and died. She was gulping tons of water though, not drinking it throughout the day.

No that is not too much.
No amount of water is too much unless you are forcing it down, but even then, your body will try to regurgitate it.
I heard about a teen who was pressured by his friends to drink as much water as possible, as some sort of a bet. He drank about 2 gallons before he died. No one even knows why the water stayed in his stomach.
You're safe! It's healthy! Don't worry, and don't drink any less water because of this small doubt.
