There are close-minded and rude people everywhere. I think its easy to overlook the faults of those that are in your camp. I think another problem is that Christians have a really hard time laughing at anything that refers to their religion. They see it as shocking and blasphemous. We atheists, on the other hand, hold very little if anything sacred. Personally I like that attitude! I am sure I laugh a lot more than many people. :-)

There are rude and polite atheists and rude and polite Christians. There are people who realize that you can not generalize one quality for an entire population of people and see people as individuals. There are people who have to lump people into groups. Clear?

With regards to close-minded and rude ... they come in all sizes, shapes, colors and faiths!
