everytime i try and download..?

I have a macbook and everytime I try and download a program like Adium or Google Earth, it comes up as like a disk and it isn't saved for the next time I turn on my computer. Does anyone have these problems? Or a solution? thanks!

I've had the same problem and called Apple about it. They were no help, saying that the 3rd party installer wasn't written properly.

Try logging in as the Administrator, then, download and install the software. When asked, drag the program to the Application folder.

It worked for me, sometimes.
