If the gift is for his assignment at ROTC then a cavalry sabre is great, there no cheap $150 to $200 give or take. Go no the U.S. Cavalry store website and check into it, they have a lot of good stuff. Tradition is the wife always gets flowers when the husband gets his gift.

For one make sure you get the wife a COA thanking her for her support and flowers also. As for him one get him a pack of depends as a joke. Second I like the Calvary Sabre idea the one guy had. Also they make a quite nice sculpture of a ROTC instructor/drill instructor and it is quite handsome. ..... Shadow Stalker

I agree about selecting the US Army Calvary Sabre. When I left the service my soldiers presented me with a sabre. I have it mounted with my dad's and grandfathers US Naval swords.

You could find a dress hat and adorn it with your unit insignia then have it bronzed and mounted on a placard with a small brass sign thanking him for his service.
