Going to the Army for radiology ,what else is needed to become a radiologist ?

I am getting into a radiology program in the Army. I am sure this will only teach me the basics and I will not earn any kind of medical degree. However once I complete the Army's training, I think I will be some sort of technician? I will be in the Army for 5 years so I have time to take college courses while I am enlisted. What kind of classes should I take that will ultimetly help me become an M.D.? I know I will still have to complete a residency when I get out of the Army. I just want to know the best steps to take while im still in the Army.

It will be nearly impossible to complete a four year degree in a natural science while enlisted as a full time soldier....... is it too late to go reserves? You could get an easier degree but it won't look good or prepare well for the MCAT. All you need to get into med school is a 4 year degree 2 semesters of biology 1 biology lab, 2 semesters of physics 2 physics labs, and 2 semesters of general chem/ w labs and 2 semesters of organic chem w/ labs. The army will pay you while you are in med school as well as pay for all books, tuition, and fees. However, you must stay in the army for as long as it took you to become an M.D. ie 4 years med school +3 years residency means you owe the army 7 years active duty

Most MDs major in one of the sciences. Consider chemistry, biology, micro-biology, etc. And yes...also look into the Army paying for your medical school. I don't remember the service obligation but it will be at least another 5 years after you graduate from medical school.

You should consider getting all your education while you are in the Army and then becoming an MD and an Army officer.
