To save a little money but still enjoy a great dinner on the grill we like to buy a combination of the "must sell by today" steaks, pork chops, etc. at our local grocery store, and plan our meal accordingly with salads or side dishes that will go well with our find of the day.
The cookout calculator at charcoalbob.com makes it easy to plan the meal and grill a variety of things at the same time so that each item being grilled gets done the way we want it, and everything comes off the grill at the same time.
We then save any leftovers to use on salads or in recipes like black beans & rice later in the week.
We like to refer to these as our hunting and gathering dinners. Hope this helps.

You can make your own kebabs with chicken, beef and veggies. Or how about corn on the cob?
Sometimes I put some baking potatoes in the microwave for 10 minutes, wrap them in foil and finish them off on the bbq. Or if you fancy a desert try wrapping bananas or pineapple pieces in foil and barbecuing

We are sick of the same old stuff for a bbq so lately we have been marinating small chunks of chicken breast and diced steak and threading them on a wooden skewer(u can buy them, cheap, in packs of 100 from the supermarket and soak them in water for a couple of hours that way they won't burn)You can add anything with it u like (capsicum, mushrooms,or onion pieces even chunks of pineapple)if u have'nt any marinade handy use bbq sauce

Use a good BBQ rub on chicken, sausages or steak. You can make your own with garlic powder, onion powder salt pepper, chili powder to your taste. Add worsteshire sauce and onion powder and if you like ketchup add that to the ground beef too for your hamburgers.

pizza is good. With all the ingredients ready (sliced and precooked - sausages or other raw meat toppings), it's really fast and turns out delicious.
I do recommend that you only use 2 or 3 toppings, besides the sauce and cheese.
This website shows how to grill a pizza: http://www.personal.psu.edu/staff/c/a/cam240/My%20Webs/Grilled%20Pizza/pizzahome.htm
You can even make a bbq chicken pizza using bbq sauce instead of tomato sauce and cooked slices of chicken and red onions, and cheese of course.

How about that son of a motherless goat that keeps ranting about people going into his kabob shop after being at the pub. It may take a while to singe off all that hair, but I'm sure underneath he's just as tender as veal.
